چکیده

Supplementary Figure S1: Antenna enhancement for another antenna-particle pair: Same graph as in Fig.4 of the main text, but for another antenna-nanoparticle pair. The black curve shows the differential pump-probe spectrum of a single nanoparticle with 50 nm in diameter. As predicted this signal is stronger and also red shifted by about ∆λ = 20 nm compared to the single 40 nm nanoparticle shown in the main text. The red curve shows the signal strength of the nanoparticle in the coupled structure for a probe polarization along the symmetry axis. Again both effects of the antenna can be observed: we have a red shift of the whole signal onto the antenna’s resonance and also the expected enhancement, which amounts here to a factor of about 3.5.

All-optical control of a single plasmonic nanoantenna-ITO hybrid.

We demonstrate experimentally picosecond all-optical control of a single plasmonic nanoantenna embedded in indium tin oxide (ITO). We identify a picosecond response of the antenna-ITO hybrid system, which is distinctly different from transient bleaching observed for gold antennas on a nonconducting SiO(2) substrate. Our experimental results can be explained by the large free-carrier nonlinearit...

Optical Limiting Properties of Colloids Enhanced by Gold Nanoparticles Based on Nonlinear Refraction for Cw Laser Illumination

In this work, thermo-optical properties of gold nanoparticle colloids are studied using continuous wave (CW) laser irradiation at 532 nm. The nanoparticle colloids are fabricated by 18 ns pulsed laser ablation of pure gold plate in the distilled water. The formation of the nanoparticles has been evidenced by optical absorption spectra and transmission electron microscopy. The nonlinear optical ...

Photonic-plasmonic-coupled nanoantennas for polarization-controlled multispectral nanofocusing.

We report on the design and experimental demonstration of array-enhanced nanoantennas for polarization-controlled multispectral nanofocusing in the near-IR spectral range. We design plasmonic double bow-tie nanoantennas-coupled to multiple-periodic nanoparticle arrays to harvest radiation of designed wavelengths from a large spatial area and to focus it into a targeted nanoscale region. Near-fi...

Single Molecule Tracking on Supported Membranes with Arrays of Optical Nanoantennas

Coupling of the localized surface plasmons between two closely apposed gold nanoparticles (nanoantenna) can cause strong enhancements of fluorescence or Raman signal intensity from molecules in the plasmonic "hot-spot". Harnessing these properties for practical applications is challenging due to the need to fabricate gold particle arrays with well-defined nanometer spacing and a means of delive...

Enhancement of single-molecule fluorescence using a gold nanoparticle as an optical nanoantenna.

We investigate the coupling of a single molecule to a single spherical gold nanoparticle acting as a nanoantenna. Using scanning probe technology, we position the particle in front of the molecule with nanometer accuracy and measure a strong enhancement of more than 20 times in the fluorescence intensity simultaneous to a 20-fold shortening of the excited state lifetime. Comparisons with three-...
